Overview
The Center for Teacher Education at National Chung Cheng University is dedicated to preparing outstanding secondary school teachers who possess strong professional knowledge, educational commitment, practical competence, and a global perspective. Through a comprehensive teacher education curriculum, teaching practicum experiences, and professional development opportunities, the Center equips future educators with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to meet the challenges of contemporary education and promote students’ holistic development.
Established in 1995 in response to the implementation of Taiwan’s Teacher Education Act and the growing demand for high-quality teachers, the Center has played an important role in teacher preparation and educational development. In 2004, the Center was officially renamed the Center for Teacher Education to further strengthen its professional mission and organizational functions.
Over the years, the Center has earned a strong reputation for excellence in teacher education. It has received top ratings in multiple evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Education and continues to demonstrate outstanding performance in curriculum development, teaching practicum programs, and teacher professional development.

The Center's faculty members all hold doctoral degrees from distinguished universities in Taiwan and abroad and have demonstrated excellence in both teaching and research. In recognition of its excellence in teacher preparation, the Center has been designated by the Ministry of Education as a recipient institution for government-funded teacher education scholarships. This distinction reflects the Center's outstanding quality and effectiveness in teacher education. Teacher candidates consistently perform exceptionally well on the Teacher Qualification Examination, with pass rates significantly exceeding the national average and achieving a 100% pass rate in recent years.
Furthermore, the Center's graduates have demonstrated remarkable success in teacher recruitment examinations. In recent years, dozens of graduates have been appointed as full-time teachers in public junior and senior high schools throughout Taiwan, making meaningful contributions to educational practice nationwide. Teacher candidates have also achieved outstanding results in various educational competitions and professional activities, including Exemplary Teaching Practicum Awards, Outstanding Teaching Practicum Awards, and teaching design competitions, reflecting their strong professional competence, innovative capabilities, and dedication to education.
